Bishkek, April 15, 2024 / Kabar/. Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, Jeenbek Kulubaev and Bakhtiyor Saidov, yesterday, during a meeting in Tashkent, signed a roadmap for preparing for upcoming summit meetings, foreign minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan wrote in his Telegram channel.
“We are pleased to welcome Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the second meeting of foreign ministers of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf”, he wrote.
In his opinion, without any doubt, there is an unprecedented level of close connections in all dimensions.
“We noted that today the Central Asia region, more than ever, is an important example of good neighborly relations,” the message emphasizes.
Earlier it was reported that on April 15, the second meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia and delegations of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf will take place in Tashkent.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, on April 14, in Tashkent, within the framework of the second meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia - Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf,” a bilateral meeting was held between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The heads of the foreign affairs departments of the two countries discussed current issues on the agenda of Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation, paying special attention to the progress in implementing the agreements of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Along with this, the ministers discussed upcoming foreign policy events at high and highest levels, and also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
The parties discussed the implementation of joint plans and projects outlined as part of the joint events planned for this year, and signed a joint “Road Map” for preparing for the summit meetings. It was emphasized that the expected events will consolidate previously reached agreements and contributes to the further development and strengthening of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The ministers noted with satisfaction that mutual trade volumes are growing at a dynamic pace, cooperation projects are being implemented in industry, energy, agriculture and other priority areas. We separately focused on the issues of the early start of the practical implementation of large infrastructure projects in the energy and transport sectors. We agreed that with the active assistance of the parties, a rich program of cultural and humanitarian exchange between the countries is being implemented.
The parties also noted the importance of strengthening interaction and coordination within specialized international organizations.
