FMs of Kyrgyzstan, Norway discuss current state and prospects for cooperation

Bishkek, Jan. 16, 2019. /Kabar/. Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Chingiz Aidarbekov and Norway Ine Eriksen Søreide discussed the current state and prospects for the cooperation.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Norway Tuesday at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.

During the meeting, the sides discussed a wide range of issues – the current state and prospects of the cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Norway in bilateral and multilateral formats, including the implementation of joint projects in the field of cartography and statistics, implemented with the support of the Government of Norway, and outlined plans for the future.

The ministers stressed the need to develop a bilateral political dialogue by organizing reciprocal visits at the highest and high levels, expressing hope for further intensification of the whole range of relations between the countries, including in enhancing economic relations and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister praised the achievements of Kyrgyzstan in the field of democratic development in general.

The sides agreed to promote the cooperation in a number of current areas in the field of political and diplomatic dialogue, economic relations, sectoral cooperation between the statistics, cartography, radiation safety, and migration agencies.

The ministers noted with satisfaction the successful cooperation of the two countries on the platforms of the UN and international organizations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic invited the Norwegian Foreign Minister to pay a reciprocal visit to Kyrgyzstan.
