Tashkent, Jan.15, 2020. /Kabar/. In India’s New Delhi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
At the meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Abdulaziz Kamilov and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar considered proposals on the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and other levels in 2020, the terms of joint activities.
Special attention was paid to Afghan problem. The FMs confirmed the interest of Uzbekistan and India in a speedy stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan, which will open up ample opportunities for intensifying and expanding cooperation in the region.
The attainment of these goals will also be facilitated by regular meetings of India-Central Asia Dialogue at the level of foreign ministers with participation of Afghanistan, launched in Samarkand in January 2019.
Prospects for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, particularly in education and science were also discussed at the meeting.
Uzbek FM Kamilov paid working visit to New Delhi to participate in the Raisina Dialogue Fifth International Conference, which is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India.
