Bishkek, Jan.20, 2025. /Kabar/. Food prices in Kyrgyzstan are lower than in neighboring countries, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the country reported.
Employees of the ministry monitored comparative food prices (for bread products, potatoes, vegetables and melons, fruits and berries, meat, milk, sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, etc.) in Kyrgyzstan and foreign countries such as Russia and Kazakhstan.
As a result, it was found that prices for food products in comparable cities of Kyrgyzstan are 6.9% lower than market prices of neighboring Kazakhstan and 8.8% lower than in Russia.
During this week, food prices in Kazakhstan are stable, an increase is observed only in prices for potatoes. Thus, in Aktobe Region prices for this product increased to KGS 42, in Kostanay Region to KGS 45, in Karaganda Region to KGS 43.
