Foreign direct investment inflow to Kyrgyzstan increased by 26.4% - president

Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2021. / Kabar /. The inflow of foreign direct investment into the country in the first 9 months of 2021 increased by 26.4% and amounted to USD 503 million or KGS 43 billion, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

He said that investment development funds have been created and are being created, namely:

- The authorized capital of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund is USD 16 million, its increase to USD 50 million has been agreed;

- The authorized capital of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund amounted to USD 50 million and will be increased to USD 200 million;

- The issue of creating a Kyrgyz-Turkmen Development Fund with an authorized capital of USD 100 million is being considered;

- The issue of creating an investment fund of the Organization of Turkic States is being worked out, the authorized capital is USD 443 million;

- Issues on the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz-Turkish development funds are being worked out.

“But this is not the limit, all shadow economic activity will become open. We hope that the facilitation for entrepreneurs will push them out of the shadow economy,” he said.
