Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2021 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Michael Linhart paid a visit to Kyrgyzstan. During the visit, the minister took part in the First EU-CA Economic Forum. In addition, during the visit, Linhart met with the leadership of the country and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Kazakbaev.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Michael Linhart for his support and participation in the First EU-CA Economic Forum in Kyrgyzstan. We would like this platform to become a permanent operating mechanism in the interaction of the Central Asian countries with the European Union in the future. We hope for the support of Austria with this initiative,” Kazakbaev said.
In addition, the minister added that the Kyrgyz side expresses its readiness for further dialogue between the countries.
“We give priority to our relationship. Kyrgyzstan intends to strengthen, expand and intensify our relations. We are also ready to pay special attention to our economic relations,” added Minister Kazakbaev.
During the meeting, a cooperation program was signed between the ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Austria for 2022-2023. The issues of further prospects in cooperation between the countries were also touched upon. The Austrian side was offered the creation of joint ventures on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Linhart, in turn, noted that the meeting was very informative. The sides discussed the development of a roadmap, and a number of negotiations were held on the problems of interaction in the field of economic relations.
The diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Austria were established on March 25, 1992.
The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Vienna was established on March 16, 1993.
