Bishkek, June 12, 2022. / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India Meenakshi Lekhi as part of her working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Kulubaev congratulated Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi on the eighth anniversary of the fruitful work of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in India, of which the state minister is an active member, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
He also, noting the rich and ancient culture of India, welcomed the intention of the Indian side to open a Yoga Institute in the Kyrgyz Republic and congratulated the guest on the upcoming International Yoga Day, which is celebrated annually in the world on June 21.
Kulubaev stressed that Kyrgyz-Indian relations are developing in a friendly and positive direction, the parties are actively interacting both in bilateral and multilateral formats, and are implementing a number of joint projects. He also noted that President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi met in November 2021 on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow and agreed to conduct mutual visits at the highest level.
The head of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan welcomed India's desire to intensify cooperation with the countries of Central Asia, including within the framework of the India-Central Asia Dialogue.
For her part, Meenakshi Lekhi highly appreciated the level of bilateral relations and expressed the readiness of the Indian side to implement joint projects in Kyrgyzstan in various fields.
Particular attention was paid to mutual cooperation in the field of investment, medicine and tourism, as well as the implementation of grant assistance projects in the Kyrgyz Republic aimed at social development in trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
The sides agreed to continue the course towards strengthening and developing Kyrgyz-Indian relations in all areas of bilateral cooperation, including through the organization of visits at the highest and high levels.
