Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan hold talks

Bishkek, May 2 / Kabar /. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev met on Monday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, at the beginning of the meeting, Meredov on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen people expressed deep condolences in connection with a landslide on April 29 this year, which resulted in large human casualties. At the same time, Meredov particularly noted that the Kyrgyz and Turkmen peoples are fraternal and conveyed the words of President Berdymukhamedov about the readiness to provide any necessary assistance.

The foreign ministers stressed the high level and dynamics of friendly relations between our countries, noting the need for their further intensification. Abdildayev said that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are one of the priority directions of the foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the interaction in trade and economic sphere, particularly in the fuel and energy sector and industry, transport and tourism, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as cooperation between the two countries within international and regional organizations. The two ministers outlined plans for cooperation in above-mentioned areas, including the organization of high-level visits.
