Foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Netherlands debate bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Dec. 3, 2021 . / Kabar /. Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Netherlands Ben Knapen met on the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting on Stockholm.

The press service of the Kyrgyz MFA said that the two foreign ministers discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the need to activate the entire spectrum of cooperation.

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the sides discussed a plan of joint activities on the occasion of the anniversary in 2022.

In this regard, Kazakbaev and Knapen agreed on the need for mutual visits of official delegations and business missions to strengthen the political dialogue, increase business partnerships, as well as exchange of experience in areas of applied interest (agriculture, green energy, information technology, logistics, creative industries, education, rational use of water resources, combating the effects of climate change, tourism).

Kazakbaev submitted to the Dutch side for consideration a draft road map for cooperation between the two countries for 2022-2025 and a draft action plan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2022.

The parties stressed the importance of expanding the bilateral legal and contractual framework and discussed the progress of the draft agreement on the avoidance of double taxation.

The Kyrgyz side handed over draft agreements on cooperation in investment promotion and protection, health, agriculture, environment, communications and information technology, education and science, culture, tourism and sports.
