Bishkek, Aug. 16, 2021 . / Kabar / . A phone conversation was held on Monday between Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Russia Sergey Lavrov.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the talk, the foreign ministers of the two countries discussed current issues of the agenda of the Kyrgyz-Russian relations, exchanged views on international and regional issues, taking into account the worsening military and political situation in Afghanistan, as well as the possibility of evacuating citizens in case of further aggravation of the situation.

Expressing regret that some deputies of the State Duma of Russia suggested as one of the measures to react to the recent incident in Bishkek involving a Kyrgyz citizen and an employee of Technopark entertainment center who is of Russian nationality to ban entry into Russia of persons who acted similarly, Kazakbaev noted that such statements of some Russian politicians should not reflect on mutual trips of citizens of both countries.

Meanwhile, the Kyrgyz FM, drawing attention to the fact that similar cases of domestic nationalism occur in Russia, stressed that individual cases should not be presented by the Russian authorities as systematic violations of the rights and interests of ethnic Russians in Kyrgyzstan.

In this regard, Ruslan Kazakbaev assured that Kyrgyzstan would continue to pursue the course of protecting the status of the Russian language so that the Russian-speaking population of the country could fully satisfy its spiritual and social needs.

The sides expressed their mutual willingness to continue constructive interaction on the issue of eradicating cases of domestic nationalism in order to strengthen friendly relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, which are particularly privileged in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership.
