Foreign ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan hold telephone conversation

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2021. / Kabar /. At the initiative of the Pakistani side, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev had a telephone conversation on Tuesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mahdum Shah Mahmud Qureshi.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that during the conversation, the sides thoroughly discussed the state of bilateral Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations, expressed their readiness to develop cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in the field of security, as well as other areas of mutual interest.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on the current socio-economic and humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.

Kazakbaev noted that the issue of comprehensive assistance to the people of Afghanistan today is more relevant than ever. He emphasized that in order to prevent a further escalation of the humanitarian crisis, it is necessary to build constructive contacts with the Afghan government in order to provide financial and humanitarian assistance to the people of this country.

In turn, Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi noted the role of Muslim countries in providing humanitarian assistance in achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan, expressing in this regard the hope that the upcoming an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Islamabad on December 19 of this year will make a positive contribution to this significant cause for the members of the organization.

Kazakbaev announced the readiness of the Kyrgyz Republic to support all international initiatives aimed at prosperity and well-being in Afghanistan, noting that stability in this country is a guarantee of stability in the common region.

In conclusion, the sides exchanged invitations to conduct mutual visits at a convenient time.
