Bishkek, May 25, 2022 / Kabar /. A foreigner with 8 kg of opium was detained in Batken Oblast of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the country’s State Committee for National Security said.
Thus, the activity of an international drug group engaged in the transportation of heavy drugs - raw opium in an especially large amount along the route "Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan-Russia" was stopped.
A citizen of the neighboring state was detained on May 25 in the border area in Arka village of Batken Oblast, from whom narcotic drugs were found and confiscated - raw opium with a total weight of 8 kg 350 g, the report said.
The suspect was arrested and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, operational-search activities are ongoing to identify other participants in this crime.
