Former member of CEC elected ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, March 3, 2022 . / Kabar /. The Jogorku Kenesh elected Atyr Abdrakhmatova as Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan.

50 deputies voted for Abdrakhmatova, 9 deputies voted for another candidate Mamaturaiym Momunov, 13 - for Bakytbek Uzenbaev, 2 - for Tursunbek Akun.

Three MPs voted against all.

Abdrakhmatova, 41, worked as a member of the Central Elections Commission of Kyrgyzstan from 2016 to 2020.

She left the Elections Commission in 2020 because of disagreement with the CEC's decisions on 2020 parliamentary elections.

Abdrakhmatova had previously run twice for the position of ombudsman.
