Bishkek, Mar. 26, 2019. /Kabar/. The First Forum of Rectors of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation “The Development of Science and Education – Investing in the Future” will be held within the framework of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bishkek, head of the Department of Civil Development, Religious and Ethnic Policy of the President’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic Nazgul Tashpaeva told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
She said that 31 rectors, 19 vice rectors and 20 representatives of universities, who are represented not only at the federal level, but also at the regional level, will arrive from Russia for the forum. Among the participants are the Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Rector of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Rector of Bauman Moscow State Technical University and others.
“The delegation is headed by President of the Russian Union of Rectors – Moscow State University Rector Victor Sadovnichy. The event of this evel is taing place for the first time. This is the first such strategic platform within the framework of integration processes, which involves work on and solution of problems associated with the current challenges facing the education system,” she said.
Tashpaeva noted that Kyrgyzstan outlined for itself the priority of investment in human capital, and education, of course, is the main tool for such investment.
In addition, Nazgul Tashpaeva informed that at the conference 70 agreements between university rectors and a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation are expected to be signed.
"At the same time, I would like to note that it is expected to conclude an agreement between the Association of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Union of Rectors," she concluded.
