Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2021 . / Kabar / . Four irrigation wells will be restored in Chui Oblast this year, Almazbek Sokeyev, the director of the State Agency for Water Resources under the Ministry of Agriculture told Friday during a briefing.
He noted that there are 93 wells on the balance sheet of the Water Resources Agency, for which an inventory has been conducted.
"This year funds are budgeted for restoration of 4 wells for irrigation and 8 more are planned to be restored next year,” the director said.
Sokeyev added that talks were held with representatives of the Asian Development Bank, during which the Kyrgyz side asked about USD 500 thousand for water supply in village in Batken region, Batken Oblast.
"The bank also suggested to create a program to repair not only the wells, but also the pumping stations that help supply water to lands above the rivers. We have 115 of them," said the director of the State Agency for Water Resources.
