Osh, Feb. 9, 2021. / Kabar /. Four large irrigation canals are being built on the territory of Batken Oblast at a total cost of KGS 1 billion 281 million, the oblast state administration said on Tuesday.
Construction of Moldo-Niyaz canal is under way in Kotormo rural municipality of Kadamjay region; the estimated cost of construction is KGS 280 million. After the construction is completed, 300 hectares of new land will be developed.
Another Kara-Kyshtak Boz canal is under construction, the estimated cost of construction is KGS 401 million. After its completion, 568 hectares of new lands will be developed, irrigation water supply to 700 hectares of land will be improved.
The capacity of the R-4 canal is being increased in Batken regular. The estimated cost is KGS 500 million. After completion of construction works, 1500 hectares of new lands will be developed.
In Leilek region, the construction of culvert is in progress, for which KGS 100 million are allocated from the republican budget, after completion of works 2500 hectares of new lands will be developed.
