Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2021. / Kabar / . Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Kazakbaev met on Friday with Special Representative for Economic Diplomacy in Central Asia of the Ministry for Europea and Foreign Affairs of France Pascal Lorot.
The meeting was held on the margins of the First European Union - Central Asia Economic Forum held on Nov. 5 in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
Kazakbaev highly appreciated the current dynamics of the development of bilateral Kyrgyz-French cooperation, which is evidenced by the opening of a diplomatic mission, the appointment of a Kyrgyz ambassador to France, as well as the recent meeting of presidents of the two countries within the framework of the World Leaders Summit on Nov. 1 in Glasgow.
There was an exchange of views on expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Particular emphasis was placed on the development of cooperation in energy and water management. For this purpose, the French side expressed its willingness to send relevant delegations to Kyrgyzstan.
Agreement was reached on holding of Kyrgyz-French Business Forum in Kyrgyzstan in early 2022 as part of the events to coincide with the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
The sides also noted the importance of expanding the contractual and legal framework to further intensify bilateral cooperation.
