French company to cooperate with Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2023 / Kabar /. Yesterday, November 10, 2023, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and TotalEnergies Renewables SA, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

The document was signed by Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Taalaibek Ibraev and Vice-president of TotalEnergies Renewables SA, head of the global business development department Fabien Demol.

The main goal of the memorandum is aimed at cooperation in the energy sector, implementation of a project on renewable energy sources in Kyrgyzstan, construction and operation of generating power plants, development and financing.

As part of bilateral negotiations outside the signing ceremony, Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev emphasized the high potential for electricity production in Kyrgyzstan.

“Our country is rich in water resources. Investors who want to build small hydropower plants for electricity generation and implement renewable energy projects can cooperate with us and get the necessary information. We are open to investment proposals for the development of the energy industry. We are also interested in implementing the plans. I hope that the document signed today will give good results in the future,” said Taalaibek Ibraev.
