Friday prayers at mosques and iftar proposed to be suspended in Bishkek

Bishkek, April 23, 2021. / Kabar /. The State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Center proposed to suspend the holding of mass events in mosques, such as juma namaz (Friday prayer), ait namaz and iftar, head physician of the epidemiological supervision center Kuban Kundashev told Kabar Agency.

He said that the center sent this order to the city kazyat (department) because of the epidemiological situation in the capital. He noted that the decision is up to the kaziyat, but if they ignore this order, the center will look for other ways.

Meanwhile, the Spiritual Management of Muslims of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the letter is still being considered.

Bishkek is the most virus-hit area in Kyrgyzstan. The most of the daily new cases are registered in the capital city. In total 33,396 COVID-19 cases has been registered in Bishkek out of total 93,278 cases.
