Bishkek, May 2, 2020. /Kabar/. In recent months, fuel and lubricants prices in Kyrgyzstan has fallen from 6.9% to 9%, Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Shukhrat Sabirov said at a briefing at the Government House.
According to him, the decline in prices is due to the fall in the global price of oil, as well as a decrease in the cost of quotes on the stock exchange.
Sabirov noted that about 20 companies import fuel and lubricants from Russia into Kyrgyzstan, and in this regard the market remains competitive.
He believes that fall in prices trend can be continued.
Kanatbek Ashatov, the Executive Director of the Association of Oil Traders of Kyrgyzstan added that as of Apr. 27, the decline in gasoline fueling made 2.8 KGS, or 6.7%, and in diesel fueling was KGS 4.7, or 9.7%. This is the retail price.
"At the wholesale price, there is a significant reduction. Gasoline prices have decreased by KGS 11.6 and diesel by KGS 11. That is by more than 20%," he said.
Kyrgyzstan's Oil Traders Association predicts that fuel prices will drop by KGS 5-6 more in May.
