Gasoline prices likely to jump in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2021. /Kabar/. In February, the price of fuel and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan is expected to rise by 2.5-3.5%, the country's Oil Traders Association said.

An increase is observed in wholesale prices of petroleum products in the Russian market. Thus, gasoline group rose by an average of $91.6 per ton, diesel fuel - by $25 per ton.

"Taking into account the above-mentioned circumstances, during February, prices in the market of fuel and lubricants in Kyrgyzstan may increase by 2.5-3.5%. At the same time, oil trading companies intend to continue the policy of smoothing the growth of prices and avoid sharp changes," the report says.

The Association also notes that according to the GlobalPetrolPrices.com, Kyrgyzstan ranks 11th out of 181 countries in the cost of gasoline.

In accordance with the rating, the country ranks first on the cheapness of fuel among import-dependent countries.

The average cost of gasoline in the world is $1.06 per liter, while in Kyrgyzstan the price is $0.455.
