Bishkek, Nov.12, 2019. /Kabar/. According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product (GDP) in January-October 2019 has amounted to more than KGS 455 million and increased by 5.7%, compared to the same period last year, Head of the Department of Economic Statistics and National Accounts of the National Statistics Committee Elvira Isenkulova said during the press conference in Bishkek.
She said without taking into account the enterprises developing the Kumtor mine, the GDP volume in January-October 2019 amounted to about KGS 406 billion and increased by 3.3%.
“The volume of industrial output amounted to more than KGS 224 billion and increased by 14% compared to the same period last year due to the growth of production of basic metals - by 31.7%, textile production - by 20.4%, mining of metal ores - by 21.6%, as well as extraction of crude oil and natural gas - by 13.7%, as well as coal production by 8.3%,” Isenkulova added.
She also noted positive trends were observed in agriculture, where the growth made 1.8%, in retail trade - 4.6%, and construction - 9.4%.
