Tashkent, Apr. 15, 2020. /Kabar/. Following the results of the first quarter of 2020, the growth of gross domestic product of Uzbekistan is expected at the level of 4,1-4,4 %, Deputy Prime Minister- Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov said at a briefing.
Uzbekistan's GDP growth in the first quarter of 2020 is 0.9-1.2% lower than the same period last year. (In January-March last year it was 5.3%).
According to Kuchkarov, Uzbekistan began to feel the impact of negative phenomena in the world economy since March, which affected the country's macroeconomic indicators.
"We expect the second quarter to be very difficult for us. Quarantine restrictions were imposed in April, but there is a high probability that they will continue in May," he said.
The minister said 32-33% of Uzbekistan's GDP falls on services, which during quarantine is primarily limited.
