GDP level in Kyrgyzstan makes KGS 513 bln: National Statistics Committee

Bishkek, Dec.11, 2019. /Kabar/. According to preliminary estimates, gross domestic product (GDP) in January-November 2019 amounted to more than KGS 513 billion, and increased by 4.9% compared to January-November 2018.

According to the press service of the National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, excluding the enterprises developing the Kumtor deposit, the GDP in January-November 2019 was about KGS 459 billion, and increased by 3.5 percent.

The volume of industrial output amounted to about KGS 250 billion, and increased by 9.6 % compared to January-November 2018 due to the growth of metal ore production (by 29.4 %) and textile production (by 19.4 %), production of basic metals (by 18.9%), clothing (by 18.0%), extraction of crude oil and natural gas (by 13.1%), coal (by 7.1%), production of other non-metallic mineral products (by 6.7%), and food products (by 4.0%).

Positive trends were observed in agriculture, where the growth of volumes was 1.9 %, wholesale and retail trade - 4.7 %, and construction - 9.8 %.

Since the beginning of the current year (compared to December of the previous year), consumer prices and tariffs in the country have increased by 2.1 % as a whole, which is due to the growth of prices for food products and soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, as well as tariffs for services.

In November this year, compared to December of the previous year, the highest growth of consumer prices was recorded in Batken Oblast (by 5.4 %), which was mainly due to their significant increase, compared to other regions, for food products and soft drinks (by 9.1 %), as well as non-food products (by 2.3 %).

Since the beginning of 2019, the growth of prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products was observed in all regions of the country, with the largest increase (4.6%), recorded in Issyk-Kul Oblast. The maximum growth of tariffs for services (3.5 %) was observed in Naryn Oblast.
