Bishkek, Sept. 26, 2018. /Kabar/. The volume of Kyrgyzstan's gross domestic product will increase owing to the industrial sector by the end of this year, Prime Minister Muhammadkalyi Abylgaziev told on Wednesday during a government meeting.
Earlier in the preliminary report of the National Statistical Committee it was reported that negative indicators in the structure of GDP formation were shown in connection with a decrease in the output of heavy industry products.
Thus, the GDP of Kyrgyzstan in January-August 2018 exceeded 310.2 billion soms. This indicator declined by 0.3% compared to the same period last year and demonstrates a slowdown in the economic growth.
Without regard for the Kumtor mining company, the GDP for eight months amounted to about 283 billion soms and increased by 2.1%.
The head of government added that negotiations were held with the management of Centerra Gold Inc. on this issue and an agreement was reached to increase production by the end of 2018.
