German Economy and Energy Minister invited to first EU-CA Economic Forum in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan.29, 2020. /Kabar/. Germany’s Berlin hosted a meeting between Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov and Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany Peter Altmaier.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, the sides briefly discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-German economic cooperation, and noted the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries.

"Minister Aidarbekov invited Altmaier to take part in the upcoming first EU-CA Economic Forum in Kyrgyzstan, which will be held in the second half of 2020.

The Kyrgyz foreign minister stressed the participation of representatives of the German economy in the said Forum will create new conditions and opportunities for business circles of the two countries," the report says.

The Kyrgyz delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, took part in the “Green Central Asia” conference, held on Jan.28, 2020 in German capital city of Berlin.

The Conference’s purpose was the consideration of aspects of strengthening regional cooperation in such an important area as combating climate change and its consequences.

The German government was expected to launch a number of initiatives in areas such as environmental protection and biodiversity, water management, combating desertification, forestry, renewable energy and energy efficiency, agriculture and land management.
