Bishkek, June 1, 2023. / Kabar /. The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Germany signed in Bishkek an agreement on financial cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev and Ambassador of Germany to Kyrgyzstan Gabriela Gellil.
This agreement will make a significant contribution to reducing maternal and infant mortality, as well as improving the conditions and quality of medical care in Bishkek and the regions.
The amount of the agreement is EUR 4.5 million. The funds will be used to complete current and planned infrastructure projects, in particular, the construction and equipping of Perinatal Centers in the cities of Bishkek, Osh and Talas, as well as equipping the Bishkek TB Hospital with equipment.
Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev in his welcoming speech noted that Germany is one of the main development partners, which has implemented projects in the sectors of sustainable economic development and healthcare over 30 years of cooperation. Thanks to the support of the German government, many projects have been implemented, the results of which are the creation of new jobs, ensuring the growth of incomes of the population, and improving the competitiveness of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In turn, Gabriela Gellil, on behalf of Germany, expressed her wishes for the sustainable development and general prosperity of Kyrgyzstan. The ambassador positively assessed the consistent activities and progress made in the transition to a green economy. She also noted that the healthcare sector is very important, and Germany's contribution to the development of this sector meets current challenges. At the end of her speech, Gellil called for continued productive cooperation through regional and thematic projects and programs.
During the meeting, the sides noted the positive dynamics and prospects for a new format of cooperation through the European Union.
