Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2018. /Kabar/. The National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Kyrgyzstan has assembled a national yurt in Switzerland.
The Kyrgyz yurt is a gift of Kyrgyzstan to the International Olympic Committee and the Mayor’s Office of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The "Boz uy" with adornments was installed in the center of Lausanne, home to International sports, which hosts about 30 international sports organizations and federations.
The official ceremony of presenting the traditional yurt took place on September 20.
President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and Vice Mayor Oscar Tosato expressed gratitude to President of the NOC of Kyrgyzstan Sharshenbek Abdykerimov for a valuable gift. They stressed the importance of preserving the yurt in the Olympic Capital of the world to show the culture and way of life of the people of Kyrgyzstan at various cultural events.
It is reported that the yurt will stand during the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games 2020.
In turn, the delegation of the NOC of Kyrgyzstan spoke about the features of the yurt and its assembly, traditional Kyrgyz rituals and treated the guests to national food.
