Bishkek, Mar. 7, 2019. /Kabar/. Famous women of Kyrgyzstan played football with girls from the capital's residential neighborhoods as part of celebration of the upcoming International Women's Day, the Federation of the sport reported.
The Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan indicated that matches of eight mixed teams were held on their field under the guidance of professional female football players from the national team.
“Playing in the same team with outstanding women of the country has become an excellent motivation for girls to achieve their goals, regardless of the stereotypes surrounding them,” UNICEF deputy representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Munir Mammadzade told. “The girls had a chance to personally meet and talk with role models of successful women in Kyrgyzstan.”
Deputy Aida Ismailova, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Aliza Soltonbekova, former Vice Mayor Aigul Ryskulova, entrepreneurs Aijan Chynybayeva and Meerim Taabaldieva, singer Gulnara Toigonbayeva and many others became examples in sports and personal success for the younger generation.
“I am sure that football and public attention will help girls to feel the necessary confidence in their abilities to achieve great victories,” Secretary General of the Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan Mederbek Sydykov concluded.
