Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2021 . / Kabar / . Deputy Mayor of Bishkek Maksatbek Sazykulov discussed air pollution issues with Joachim Fritz, Country Director of GIZ (the German Society for International Cooperation) in Kyrgyzstan.
The press service of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office reported that during the meeting, representatives of GIZ presented the project "Combating Air Pollution", which will be a starting point in improving the environmental situation in the Kyrgyz capital.
"The project specifies measures that will help create a strong science-based basis for pollution control, which will have an impact on ensuring better planning of actions. In addition, the project aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of alternative heating systems that can be used in the private sector,” the report said.
In turn, the deputy mayor of expressed gratitude to the German partners for the initiative.
Maksatbek Sazykulov also noted the readiness of the capital’s Mayor’s Office to support this project, as the problem of air pollution is one of the most serious environmental factors affecting human health.
