The three-day event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, attracted over 13,656 visitors, with the participation of more than 192 media establishments from 42 countries and over 1,200 media experts and specialists.

The first edition of the Global Media Congress attracted significant local, regional and international attention, and its agenda included 40 panel discussions and over 30 workshops attended by 162 participants.

Speaking about the results of the congress Nurzhan Kasmalieva, head of the international department of Kabar News Agency told that the Global Media Congress was very useful for the agency. “The Global Media Congress was a good platform to obtain many new partners, agree on cooperation on many spheres and find new friends. We had an opportunity to exchange opinions and ideas with our old and new friends and colleagues. In addition, the participants of the conferences and panel discussions received many useful information on fake news, fact-checking, social media, the digital media, future of the media and other interesting topics related to the media industry. We are very grateful for the Emirates News Agency for giving us such an opportunity,” she said.

Young reporter of Kabar Agency Kanat Dzholochiev praised the organization level of the congress and noted that the Global Media Congress in Abu Dhabi was held at a very high level. “This is the first time I have participated in such a large-scale media event. Very good conditions were created there to improve our skills, learn new things, and cooperate with other media organizations. I participated in workshops on fact-checking, making news on social media, and how to distinguish fake news. It was very useful. I found new friends and held negotiations on cooperation. There was a good opportunity to get acquainted with the traditions, culture, and people of the Arab people. Before I knew it from the outside, but now I know it a little closer. The United Arab Emirates is a very developed, modern country. The people are hospitable and generous. I hope that in the future our relationship will be strengthened and there will be an opportunity to learn the culture and language,” he said thanking the organizers of the event.
