Bishkek, July 22, 2024 . / Kabar / . The first meeting of the Executive Board of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) was held in Shusha within the framework of the Global Media Forum. Media leaders of the friendly states discussed issues of strengthening partnership and enhancing cooperation in the information sphere.
Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State Information Agency (AZERTAJ) Vugar Aliyev, as a representative of the country hosting the forum, noted that this significant event has historical significance, as the media unite efforts to create a favorable atmosphere for multilateral and multidimensional interstate cooperation.
"Ties are also expanding in the field of information and a number of joint projects are being implemented. The establishment of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies in Istanbul last November is also one of the important steps taken in this direction. As leading news agencies, we can form a space of more accurate and prompt information about our countries," he emphasized.
Yusuf Ozkir, a member of the Board of the Turkish Anadolu Agency, emphasized the importance of full-scale media cooperation, and one of the effective directions of such activities can be countering fakes.
"Expanding cooperation in cultural and other spheres, particularly in the field of education, is important in the Turkic world's news agencies' fight against disinformation. Mutual training and joint projects will be useful for ATNA member countries," he said.
Director General of the Kyrgyz National News Agency Kabar Mederbek Shermetaliev noted that relations between Turkic states are strengthening and are in dynamic development. The aspirations for peace and creation in the current, rather difficult international situation require special attention and political support.
"I would like to note once again that the main goal of our cooperation is to strengthen and develop ties between culturally and spiritually close countries and peoples. We support and reveal the essence of these processes that carry a creative component. Now it is a very important and responsible mission to strengthen friendship between peoples and support aspirations for peace, joint and mutually beneficial development. We preserve and strengthen our centuries-old historical ties," he emphasized.
Durdona Salikhova, Editor-in-Chief of UzA Agency (Uzbekistan), Robert Karasz, Creative Director of MTI Agency (Hungary) expressed readiness to cooperate with ATNA members in all spheres and confidence that this cooperation will serve an important purpose for the Turkic world.
During the meeting various formats of interaction were discussed and worked out, projects were considered, the realization of which may start in the near future. The parties also resolved a number of organizational issues.
ATNA was founded in November 2023 at the General Assembly in Istanbul by the agencies AZERTAJ (Azerbaijan), Anadolu (Turkey), Kazcontent (Kazakhstan), Kabar (Kyrgyzstan) and UzA (Uzbekistan).
