Bishkek, April 13, 2022. / Kabar /. Good Neighbors branch in Kyrgyzstan has started working with Uch Terek village council in Toktogul region from March 2021.
Good Neighbors in Kyrgyzstan reported that within the framework of the Community Development Project in the region, the process of implementing sectoral projects has actively begun.
One of such projects is the construction of a greenhouse for Nurgaziev School No. 29 in the village of Uch Terek, it said.
The greenhouse is built on green technologies, the power supply of the greenhouse is based on solar cells, and an effective water supply system is also provided.
This project was implemented jointly with the UN World Food Program as part of the national program to optimize school meals. It is worth noting separately the work of the administration of the Uch Terek village district for the support provided during the construction and legalization of the greenhouse.
The greenhouse ensures that children have all year access to organic vegetables and fresh fruits, as well as provide additional income for the school to enrich the meal menu. The cooks and staff of the school took a training course on school nutrition, drawing up a diverse menu and improved cooking skills, the greenhouse agronomist mastered the work of the greenhouse and took intensive courses on growing agricultural crops.
We hope that there will be more such projects and children will be able to enjoy delicious and healthy food within a year, the report said.
