Bishkek, July 28, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Ministers Aida Ismailova and Erkin Asrandiyev met with volunteers assisting the population during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Kyrgyz Government's press service reported.
Deputy PM Aida Ismailova noted that it is volunteers who make a great contribution to the fight against coronavirus infection.
"The purpose of our today's meeting is to discuss the urgent problems of the volunteer movement in order to unite our efforts to effectively confront the common misfortune - the pandemic. Volunteer organizations do everything possible to help citizens and the state in such difficult times. State bodies, in their turn, should help volunteers in every possible way. It is necessary to coordinate our efforts. That's why the birge.pro platform was developed," she said.
During the event, Erkin Asrandiyev and Aida Ismailova made presentations on receipt and distribution of donor and humanitarian aid.
Besides, Head of Together Movement Eldar Shabdanov gave a presentation on the work of volunteer movement.
The second block of the meeting was held in a question-and-answer format, where volunteers told about their pressing problems that they face every day.
Volunteers were able to get answers to their questions from representatives of relevant state bodies, and made suggestions for improvement of the situation on concrete examples and interaction with each other.
Representatives of the volunteer organizations asked to pay special attention to the regions where complex epidemiological situation is observed. The issue of protection of health and life of medical workers was also raised. In addition, launching e-medicine, supporting the business community in times of crisis, and informing the population about counteracting the pandemic was raised.
As a result, it was decided to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
Governors and Osh Mayor Taalaibek Sarybashov took part in the meeting via videoconference.
