Work is underway to ensure the passage of spring field work, including saturation of the market with diesel fuel for agricultural machinery, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Daniyar Imanaliyev said at a press conference in Bishkek on Wednesday.
He added as of today, the State Material Reserves Fund has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"Work to increase the sowing areas for strategically important socially important food products is already underway under the auspices of the Government’s Office, a number of meetings were held, where instructions were given to the Ministry of Agriculture to increase the volume and sowing areas for certain crops. These are oilseeds, grains and sugar beet. The purpose of these decisions is to ensure food security in the country," said the deputy minister.
Daniyar Imanaliyev the Government will not allow disruption of sowing activities due to a number of factors.
"Now we are working together with farmers on fuels and lubricants, seeds and irrigation water to ensure that this part is also provided at the proper level," the official added.
