Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2022. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov held an operational meeting on the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border.
Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev reported on the situation in Batken Oblast and the results of negotiations with the Tajik side.
He said that at present the situation in the border areas of the Batken region is stable. The sides agreed to establish a joint commission to investigate the causes of the incident, to ensure the return of local residents who left their homes after the outbreak of the conflict, to withdraw all units of military formations from the relevant border line, to ensure the unblocking of all roads, to ensure the restoration of destroyed infrastructure and power lines.
Governor of Batken Oblast Abdikarim Alimbaev, Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev provided information on the ongoing work.
Based on the results of the operational meeting, Akylbek Zhaparov gave a number of instructions to ensure proper public security, the safe return of evacuated citizens to their homes, the allocation of the necessary funds for the restoration of infrastructure and other needs of the region, and instructions were given to insure all houses located in the border territories of Batken region at the expense of the state.
