Bishkek, May 4, 2021. / Kabar /. A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Uzbekistan MFA reports.
The document was signed during the visit of Uzbekistan delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to the Russian Federation (Kazan) to attend the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council as an observer state.
The document is aimed at developing trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan as an observer state and the EEC.
The Memorandum also provides for cooperation in the exchange of information in such areas as customs and technical regulation, consumer protection, circulation of medicines and medical products, transport, energy, industry and agriculture, intellectual property and other sectors of the economy.
The Memorandum is not an international treaty and does not impose financial and legal obligations on the Republic of Uzbekistan and the EEC.
The parties also adopted a plan of joint activities for 2021-2023, including specific dates for organizing consultations and exchanging delegations to effectively implement these provisions of the Memorandum.
