Government reaches understanding on all terms with Centerra Gold Inc.

Bishkek, Aug.10, 2019. /Kabar/. The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic has reached an understanding with Centerra Gold Inc. on all terms of the Strategic Agreement coming into force, the press service of the Government reported.

Compliance with the terms of the Strategic Agreement and the completion of subsequent procedures for its entry into force will allow Kumtor Gold Company to begin making payments under the Agreement, including to the Kyrgyz Republic Nature Development Fund and the Oncology Support Fund.

In addition, Kumtor Gold Company has committed to making additional contributions in the Kyrgyz Republic beyond those provided for in the Strategic Agreement.

Centerra Gold Inc. President Scott Perry noted the completion of the Strategic Agreement is evidence of Centerra's strong relationship with the Kyrgyz Government.

Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev always emphasizes the importance of the Kumtor project for the country's economy, noting the need to ensure transparency of all decision-making processes and strict compliance with environmental standards at the gold mine.
