Bishkek, Dec. 11, 2017. /Kabar/. Within the framework of the agreements reached between the Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Artem Novikov and Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Yoshihiro Yamamura, a negotiating group headed by Kanat Abdrakhmanov, Head of the Investment Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic held the first round of negotiations with the Japanese side on Dec. 7-8 on the conclusion of the Agreement on liberalization, promotion and protection of investments between the Kyrgyz Republic and Japan, press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The main goal of the conclusion of the Agreement between the states is the creation of a regulatory legal framework in the sphere of attracting direct investments, which should contribute to an increase in the inflow of direct investments into the economy of the country.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the provisions of the Model Agreements of Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic and made their comments to them. Also, an agreement was reached to take early steps to conclude a bilateral investment agreement in order to strengthen and expand mutually beneficial economic contacts between the countries.
Following the negotiations, the sides agreed to hold a second round of consultations in March 2018.
