Bishkek, June 6, 2024. /Kabar/. The UK has been offered to open a visa center in Kyrgyzstan. This became known today at a meeting between Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Gulnara Baatyrova and British Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Nicholas Bowler.
The Kyrgyz minister noted the effectiveness of the department’s cooperation with the British side in various areas.
“Today, the quota for seasonal workers from Kyrgyzstan to the UK has reached 8 thousand people. Program participants successfully invest the funds they earn in the economy of our country by opening small businesses. At the same time, it would be possible to reduce the visa corridor for Kyrgyzstanis, which today is 6 months.
Also, the opening of a visa center in Kyrgyzstan will contribute to increasing the efficiency of cooperation, since at the moment obtaining a visa in Almaty costs an additional 76 pounds,” said Gulnara Baatyrova.
During the meeting, issues of workers’ well-being, the procedure for hiring them, the possibility of attracting high-paying jobs, and simplifying employment were raised.
The parties also exchanged views on current issues.
Concluding the meeting, the parties expressed their common hope for the further development of fruitful cooperation.
