Bishkek, June 15, 2022. /Kabar/. The Green Climate Fund (GCF) is ready to provide the necessary support to Kyrgyzstan. This was stated by the GCF Executive Director Yannick Glemarec during a meeting with Kyrgyz Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, the sides discussed issues of expanding bilateral cooperation.
In particular, the ambassador focused on such priority areas as attracting investment to achieve the goals of sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan, overcoming poverty, development and support of private entrepreneurship, increasing employment and income of rural population, improving rural infrastructure, strengthening decision-making skills of local communities in the field of adaptation to climate change.
Ismailova. expressed hope that the Green Climate Fund will support the national and regional climate projects of Kyrgyzstan. She also asked to provide experts from the Kyrgyz Republic with expert and technical assistance in the preparation of targeted projects, to strengthen interaction between the parties at the expert level, including through videoconferencing.
In turn, Yannick Glemarec assured that the Green Climate Fund is always ready and open for cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and specialists of the Fund are always ready to provide necessary support and consultations to the state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
