Gross agricultural output worth KGS 395B produced in Kyrgyzstan in 2024

Bishkek, Jan.15, 2025. /Kabar/. In January-December 2024, gross agricultural output amounting to KGS 395.6 billion was produced, the express information on the main indicators of socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan following the results of the year showed.

According to the report, the real growth rate by 2023 amounted to 106.3% (for 2023 - 100.6%), which is provided by the increase in production of both crop production by 10.3% and livestock production by 3.1%.

High indicators in crop production (by 10.3%) are due to the increase in crop yields and the increase in the area under crops.

To date, the harvesting of grain crops in the republic has been carried out on the area of 599.5 thousand hectares.

Harvesting of wheat is fully completed, the area of which is 240.5 thousand hectares, which is 37.8 thousand hectares more compared to 2023. Barley harvesting is also completed and harvested on the area of 245.9 thousand hectares, which is 44.6 thousand hectares more compared to 2023.

Harvesting of leguminous crops has been completed and harvested on the area of 53.0 thousand hectares.

Gross harvest of vegetables is 1,200.2 thousand tons, melons - 280.9 thousand tons. Harvesting of oilseeds was carried out on the area of 13.8 thousand hectares, yield is 13.0 c/ha, gross harvest is 18.6 thousand tons.

Thanks to consistent systematic work and support of farmers, including at the state level, this year sugar beet sowing became productive. Sugar beet was harvested from 13.2 thousand hectares, the average yield is 842.2 c/ha, which is 241.4 c/ha higher than in 2023. The important task is not only to maintain these positions and achieve long-term sustainable results, but also to increase production volumes for export.

State support for financing of agricultural sectors continues. As of Dec.27, 2024, within the framework of the Financing of Agriculture-12 Project, 11 665 rural commodity producers of the republic were financed with soft loans in the amount of KGS 4 661.3 million, including: in the field of “livestock” 10 218 entities in the amount of KGS 4 182.28 million; in the field of “crop production” 1 437 entities in the amount of KGS 479.0 million.

The contribution to GDP formation by the agricultural sector amounted to 0.6 percentage points, the specific weight in the structure of GDP production amounted to 8.6%.
