Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . The main reason for the rise of fuel prices in Kyrgyzstan is the growing selling price from Russian refineries, Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Kyrgyzstan Keneshbai Tailakov said at a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He added that Kyrgyzstan currently buys fuel and lubricants from 4 refineries: Angarsk, Omsk, Orsknefteorgsintez and Bashneft.
"Thus, the selling prices of the above-mentioned refineries have been increasing since the beginning of 2021. According to the Oil Traders Association of Kyrgyzstan, selling prices of Russian refineries have increased by 130% for gasoline group and by 70% for diesel fuel since the beginning of the year. We are working to regulate and contain prices on the market", Tailakov said.
The antimonopoly body is working to curb the growth of prices for fuels and lubricants by analyzing the market situation and issuing recommendations to prevent unwarranted increases in prices for fuels and lubricants.
In case of violation of the requirements of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Competition" by oil traders, the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation will take appropriate measures within the framework of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
