Bishkek, June 14, 2023. / Kabar /. In May 2023, compared to the previous month, an increase in consumer prices and tariffs was noted in the EAEU member states, with the exception of Belarus and Armenia.
According to data of the National Statistics Committee, the increase in prices in Kyrgyzstan by 0.9% is due to their increase in non-food products by 2.3%.
In May 2023, compared to December 2022, the highest inflation rate of 4.8% in the consumer sector of the economy was recorded in Kazakhstan, where food prices increased the most by 5.6%.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan recorded the maximum increase in prices for non-food products by 4.9% and for services provided to the population by 5.2%.
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was formed in May 2014. Its member-states are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
The union was formed aiming at free movement of goods, capital, services and people within the union.
