Bishkek, April 6, 2021 / Kabar /. Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan Uluk-Bek Bekturganov, during a briefing at the government house, said that the increase of COVID-19 cases among school and preschool children was associated with weather conditions and seasonal diseases.
He said that according to statistics, in March, there were 117 cases of COVID-19 among school-age children (from 7 to 17 years old), while 37 cases have already been identified this month.
Also, among children of preschool age (from birth to 6 years old), 74 cases were registered in March, and 23 in April.
“I would like to note that at present the growth of the disease among children has stopped. We think the jump in the disease was associated with unstable weather conditions and seasonal respiratory diseases,” he said.
