Growth of COVID-19 cases associated with non-observance of sanitary rules - Ministry of Health

Bishkek, Oct. 8, 2020 / Kabar /. The growth of COVID-19 cases is associated with non-compliance with basic sanitary rules by citizens, Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Sabirzhan Abdikarimov told reporters at Kabar News Agency.

He said that citizens stopped wearing masks, keeping social distance, began to visit each other, hug, etc.

“These actions of our citizens have already borne fruit, over the past two weeks the growth rate of patients has accelerated by 1.4%,” the minister said.

At the same time, Abdikarimov noted that over the past two days there has been the largest increase in patients over the past 53 days.

“If earlier an increase was in the southern regions, now the threat of an outbreak has arisen in Bishkek. To date, 77 new cases of COVID-19 have been registered in the capital, such number of patients in Bishkek has not been registered since Aug.13," Abdikarimov said.

In addition, the minister asked the citizens to observe sanitary rules and take care of their health.
