Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2024. /Kabar/. Director of the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Self-Government Kudaibergen Bazarbaev today held a meeting with Indian international observers monitoring the elections to local councils in Kyrgyzstan Bidhan Chandra Patra and Usa Jen Mog.
During the meeting, Kudaibergen Bazarbaev noted that based on the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov on conducting administrative-territorial reform, the largest elections to local and city councils are being held, all conditions have been created for holding elections in accordance with international standards.
"Based on this reform, a total of 264 local councils have been created, including 33 city and 231 rural. The total number of mandates is 6,384. This means that the total number of deputies is reduced to 2678. That is why today's elections are an important and greatest political reform. In this regard, our employees are constantly working in every village, district, city to conduct clean, transparent elections. There is no such thing as interference in elections and administrative resource, as previous heads of government did. You probably even noticed this yourself. The state will adhere to the principles of democratic elections and ensure that citizens freely express their point of view," Bazarbaev said.
Indian international observers Bidhan Chandra Patra and Usa Jan Mog also stated the need to hold local council elections in the country in accordance with international standards. In conclusion, the international observers wished success in holding local council elections.
An election headquarters has been created in the State Agency for Civil Service and Local Self-Government, which is working with local government bodies to hold the elections.
