Bishkek, May 24, 2018. / Kabar /. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan Major-General Rayimberdi Duishenbiev took part in the regular meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CSTO member states in Astana, Kazakhstan, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, the heads of defense departments exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional security, discussed the state of the military and political situation in the region, and outlined further prospects for military cooperation in the format of this organization.
The key point of the meeting was the approval of joint training of command agencies and forming the forces of the collective security system for a five-year period.
As a result of the event, the participants considered and signed a number of documents related to the activities of the organization, such as the development of a coordinated information policy, the system of joint training of military personnel, foreign policy, budget, security and defense of the Collective Security Treaty Organization,
Within the framework of the visit, a visit to the 5th International Exhibition of Arms and Equipment "KADEX-2018" was also held.
In 2019 the chairmanship in the CSTO will be transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic
