Bishkek, June 17, 2022. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexei Overchuk met on the sidelines of the XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Akylbek Zhaparov noted that the Russian side traditionally organized a forum at a high level, which has rightfully become a prestigious international dialogue platform on the most pressing aspects of economic cooperation.
“The Russian Federation is one of the main trade partners of the Kyrgyz Republic and ranks first in terms of trade. In January-March of this year, mutual trade amounted to 573.1 million US dollars and increased by 21.4% compared to the same period in 2021. We are interested in further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation,” he said.
The head of the Cabinet also expressed gratitude to the Russian side for providing technical assistance in matters of fiscalization.
In turn, Alexey Overchuk noted the interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, transport and energy sectors.
The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction within the integration association.
