Bishkek, Sept. 1, 2022 / Kabar /. At the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will be held on Sept. 15-16 in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), it is planned to sign an agreement on the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway by the heads of states, Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, told speaking at the session of the Kyrgyz Parliament.
“Currently, Chinese specialists, together with our specialists, are studying the area and carrying out relevant work on the territory of the country. We plan to complete the development of a feasibility study in the first half of next year. We have to spend from 5 billion to 7 billion dollars for the construction of this railway in the country,” the head of the Cabinet said.
80 specialists arrived in Kyrgyzstan from China in May and the work has begun on the preparation of a feasibility study for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
